Soon-Ah Will Be Done

We used to sing this song in the choir back at Olentangy High School, in the late sixties. It's an old spiritual that was composed by William L. Dawson, an African-American composer, choir director and professor (see the Wikipedia article about him, and the William L. Dawson website).

There are two versions below.

Rob Britt: Backup vocal, lead guitar, drum pad

Arranged by Rik James
Produced by Rob Britt at the Geezecave

Recorded at the Geezecave in October 2011 and September 2012

Version 2

(Re-mix of Lead Vocal, Hammond Organ)

Rob Britt: Backup vocal, lead guitar, drum pad, Midi Hammond Organ

Arranged by Rik James

Ry Cooder's New Album, "Election Special". I bought a copy of this, as it sounded good, and I like Ry Cooder so much. Here's a link to more info on the album at the Nonesuch Records website.

Woody Guthrie's 100th Birthday on Democracy Now!

Here's a news story from Democracy Now!, recommended by Rik, commemorating Woody Guthrie's 100th birthday. [Update: I just watched it, and I recommend it too! Nora Guthrie (Woody's daughter) has a lot of interesting stuff to say...)
